L. 94–283, title I, §105, May 11, 1976, 90 Stat. 481, provided penalties of not more than $1,000 fine or not more than 1 year imprisonment, or both for violations of this subchapter.

Savings Provision Pub. L. 94–283, title I, §114, May 11, 1976, 90 Stat. 495, provided that: "Except as otherwise provided by this Act [see Tables for classification], the repeal by this Act of any section or penalty shall not have the effect of releasing or extinguishing any penalty, forfeiture, or liability incurred under such section or penalty, and such section or penalty shall be treated as remaining in force for the purpose of sustaining any proper action or prosecution for the enforcement of any penalty, forfeiture, or liability."
