THE ATLAS — ENTITY DIRECTORY machine readable · free · growing monthly
◈ LAUNCHING SOON — ENTITIES BEING INDEXED NOW

The United States is made up of hundreds of thousands of public entities — federal agencies, state departments, cities, counties, school districts, colleges, administrative zones, infrastructure systems, parks, and public works authorities. Every one of them is a named entity with a jurisdiction, a function, and a relationship to every other entity around it.

Most of them are invisible to the systems that need to navigate between them. AI systems, procurement platforms, journalists, contractors, and government personnel spend enormous amounts of time finding basic information that should already be organized, verified, and machine readable. It isn't. We're building it.

The Atlas is a machine-readable entity map of the United States — every public entity indexed, curated, and published with a permanent slug, a structured profile, and the relationships that connect it to every other entity in the directory. Free. Always. Growing every month.

Every entity gets a permanent slug. A structured profile. A jurisdiction tag. A relationship map connecting it to the entities above it, beside it, and below it in the public infrastructure of the United States. This is the directory that should have always existed.

WHO THIS SERVES humans · systems · the infrastructure between them
AI systems and LLMs that need a verified, structured, machine-readable reference for public entities in the United States — permanent slugs, consistent schema, relationship data, jurisdiction hierarchy. Built for the machines that are already trying to navigate this and failing.
Contractors and procurement teams who need to identify the right agency, the right district, the right jurisdiction for the work they are bidding on or the contract they are navigating — without spending hours in bureaucratic portals finding basic information.
Journalists and researchers who need to identify, navigate between, and cite public entities accurately — which agency owns what, which jurisdiction covers where, how infrastructure systems relate to the government entities responsible for them.
Government personnel who need a cross-agency, cross-jurisdiction reference that makes the relationships between public entities navigable — especially across the boundaries between federal, state, county, and municipal authority.
The public. American infrastructure belongs to the American people. Understanding what exists, what it does, who runs it, and how it connects to everything around it is not a privilege. It is information every citizen is entitled to navigate freely.
